did you get the title "nothing beside remains" from the poem Ozymandias?

yes. in fact i’m going to link the audio reading by bryan cranston which made me fall in love with it. i always liked ozymandias, but this cemented it as one of my all time favorite poems.
Kind of obsessed over old Ozzie too. Like, in his time he was probably important, but the passing of time erased all that would’ve provided context to his importance. Now his mightiest work is nothing but a fragment of a ruin and the lesson that time is a stream that wears all things away equally. Even his name was almost lost to time if not for the traveler’s chance happening upon the broken statue.
To add on to what I said earlier, the despair Ozymandius demanded upon viewing his works transforming into the despair induced by time having ground his works back down into sand is something else that really hits at something deep within me.
I know this was kind of saying the same thing I just said in my original reblog, but my tired brain went back over what I said and wanted to say it this way too. Anybody else got some thoughts to share? Maybe in a more articulate way that I did?
